When you have a three weapon limit you are likely to experiment and try these unusual weapons. They are harder to use than an ordinary gun but they can be deadly when used correctly.

But there are many interesting weapons such as the Hellbreath Volt Driver railgun, or the Tihar pneumatic rifle, or the Hellsing arrow gun. When you can only carry two guns, most players will want to stick to standard FPS guns: an assault rifle and a shotgun. It is perfectly possible to beat the game with two guns! I'm saying that two guns makes the game less interesting because you won't try as many of the weapons. I'm not saying that two guns makes the game too difficult. I'm not the one without too much difficulty passing METRO LL on Ranger fashion, with two guns, and you are whining" Translation of what Crooked said: "Always knew you "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" pissing casuals. And if you like the flexibility of 3 weapons (or want the game to be more similar to original metro 2033) then you can select that option, on both normal mode and ranger mode. That way, if you like having a 2-weapon limit you can choose that option, even if you are playing in normal difficulty. I personally really liked the weapon category system of original Metro 2033, but if they can't reimpliment that then at the very least they should add an option to choose "Carry three weapons/carry two weapons". With a 2-weapon limit you can't afford to have a useless weapon slot so when you run out of bullets for your upgraded gun you'll have to drop it and pick up whatever piece of crap is lying around. With a a 3-weapon limit you take a risk - you can pick up an unusual hard-to-use weapon, or you can spend money upgrading one of your guns, and then even if you run out of ammo for that weapon or you are in a situation where that gun isn't suitable you can still carry it around uselessly and use your other two guns. But if you have only two weapon slots you'll only try out half the guns in the game and you wont' want to waste money upgrading weapons that you might have to drop ten minutes later. What makes the new 2-weapon limit really suck is that Redux adds more weapons and weapon customisation.

If the NPCs can figure out how that rifles are worn on your back and pistols go into pistol holsters, why does Ranger mode arbitrarily limit the player to two guns? and he also has a pistol holster on his leg. In fact, in Metro 2033 Redux the first Ranger that you see is carrying two guns on his back (a shotgun and a silenced rifle with a bayonet). So no matter the situation you'd always have a pistol, the only time you'd get rid of your pistol was to pick up another pistol. Normally I don't care about that sort of thing, but original Metro 2033 was one of the few games that was sensible about this, it allowed you to carry two big guns and a pistol. You can't put a shotgun or an assault rifle into the pistol holster on your leg, so why do you have to drop your pistol if you want to carry an assault rifle and a shotgun? The pistol shuoldn't be involved in that situation at all. Ranger mode is supposed to be the more "realistic" option, but this isn't realistic at all. There have been a couple of discussions about it here and I've also seen people complaining about it on various forums. I'm not happy about that at all, and I know a bunch of other people that feel the same way. Of course that makes things a bit easier, so in Ranger mode they made it harder by limiting you to carrying two weapons.Īnd now they've put that weapon system into Metro 2033. In Metro Last light they got rid of the weapon categories so you could carry 3 weapons of any type. In original Metro 2033 you could carry a pistol, a submachine gun/assault rifle, and a third two-handed weapon (shotgun, pneumatic weapon, Hellsing arrow gun, etc).
